FS1403-5000-AS is an easy-to-use, fully integrated, and highly efficient micro-point-of-load (µPOL™) voltage regulator. The on-chip pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller and integrated MOSFETs, plus incorporated inductors and capacitors, result in an extremely compact and accurate regulator. The low-profile package is suitable for automated assembly using standard surface-mount equipment. Developed by a cross-functional engineering team, the design exemplifies best practices and uses class-leading technologies. From early in the integrated circuit design phase, designers worked with application and packaging engineers to select compatible technologies and implement them in ways that reduce compromise. Applications include storage applications, telecom and networking applications, industrial applications, server applications, distributed point-of-load power architectures, computing peripheral voltage regulation, and general DC-DC conversion.
- Continuous 3A load capability, plug and play: no external compensation required
- Programmable operation using the I²C serial bus (fast mode and fast mode plus)
- Enabled input, programmable under-voltage lock-out (UVLO) circuit
- Open-drain power-good (PG) indicator, built-in protection features
- Input voltage range from 8 to 16V, output voltage is 5V typ (VOUT (default), TA = 25°C)
- Output fall time is 250ms max (TA = 25°C, fast-mode)
- Continuous output current range from 0 to 3A
- Accuracy is ±0.5% typ (TJ = 25°C, PVIN = 12V, VOUT = 5V)
- Input impedance range from 500 to 1500kohm (TA = 25°C)
- µPOL™ package, operating temperature range from -40 to +125°C, small size is 3.3 x 3.3 x 1.5mm
