RC21xxxA is a member of Renesas's VersaClock® 7 programmable clock generator. It is intended for high-performance compute, data-communications, and industrial applications, designed to be placed immediately adjacent to a PHY, switch, ASIC or FPGA that requires several reference clocks with jitter performance 150fs typical RMS. Up to 27 configurations reusable across multiple designs may be stored in on-chip One-Time Programmable (OTP) memory or external I²C EEPROM. Redundant input available for backup and used as reference clock where needed. Typical applications are high-performance computing, data centre accelerators, switches / routers, synchronous Ethernet, industrial.
- PCIe® Gen6 common clock (CC) 27fs RMS, PCIe SRIS and SRNS support
- 1KHz to 650MHz LVDS/LP-HCSL outputs, 1KHz to 200MHz LVCMOS outputs
- Simple AC-coupling to LVPECL and CML, LP-HCSL integrates 100 ohm or 85 ohm terminations
- Programmable general purpose inputs (GPI × 4) and general purpose input/outputs (GPIO × 5)
- 1MHz I²C, 400KHz SMBus or 20MHz SPI support
- Factory programmable internal OTP
- Programmable hardware configuration select-pins
- Operating temperature range from -40° to +85°C
- 12 differential/24 single-ended outputs, 48-QFN package
