MCP3004-I/SL is a 4-channel 10bit serial A/D converter with SPI serial interface and on-board sample and hold circuitry. It is programmable to provide two pseudo-differential input pairs or four single-ended inputs. Communication with the devices is accomplished using a simple serial interface compatible with the SPI protocol. The device is capable of conversion rates of up to 200ksps. It operates over a broad voltage range (2.7V - 5.5V). Low-current design permits operation with typical standby currents of only 5nA and typical active currents of about 300µA. Application includes sensor interface, process control, data acquisition, battery operated systems.

- Differential nonlinearity is ±0.25LSB typ (VDD = 5V, VREF = 5V, TA = -40°C to +125°C)
- Integral nonlinearity is ±0.5LSB typ (VDD = 5V, VREF = 5V, TA = -40°C to +125°C)
- On-chip sample and hold, SPI serial interface (modes 0,0 and 1,1)
- Operating voltage range from 2.7 to 5.5V (TA = -40°C to +125°C, fSAMPLE = 200ksps)
- Standby current is 0.005µA typ (CS (active low) = VDD = 5.0V, TA = -40°C to +125°C)
- Low power CMOS technology, 0.005µA standby current typ (CS (active low) = VDD = 5.0V, TA = +25°C)
- Total harmonic distortion is -76dB typ (VIN = 0.1V to 4.9V at 1KHz, TA = +25°C)
- Gain error is 0.06LSB typ (VDD = 5V, VREF = 5V, TA = -40°C to +125°C)
- 14 pin SOIC package, industrial operating temperature range from -40 to 85°C
- 500μA Maximum active current at 5V
