MCP1703T-5002E/MC is a CMOS low dropout (LDO) voltage regulator capable of delivering up to 250mA of current while consuming only 2.0µA of quiescent current (typical). The input operating range is specified from 2.7V to 16.0V, making it an ideal choice for applications powered by two to six primary cell batteries, 9V alkaline batteries, or one or two-cell Li-Ion batteries. The LDO output remains stable with just 1µF of output capacitance. Ceramic, tantalum, or aluminium electrolytic capacitors can all be used for input and output. Overcurrent limit and overtemperature shutdown features ensure a robust solution for various applications. Applications include battery-powered devices, alarm circuits, smoke detectors, CO2 detectors, pagers, cellular phones, smart battery packs, low quiescent current voltage references, PDAs, digital cameras, microcontroller power, solar-powered instruments, consumer products, and battery-powered data loggers.
