The MAX9121EUE+ is a quad LVDS line receiver with integrated termination and flow-through pinout in 16 pin TSSOP package. It receives data at speed up to 500Mbps (250MHz) over controlled impedance media of approximately 100 ohm, the transmission media may be printed circuit (PC) board traces or cables. The device accepts four LVDS differential inputs and translates them to LVCMOS outputs. Inputs are high impedance and require an external termination resistor when used in a point to point connection. The device supports a wide common mode input range of 0.05V to 2.35V allowing for ground potential differences and common mode noise between driver and receiver. A fail-safe feature sets output high when inputs are open or when inputs are undriven and shorted or parallel terminated. It is used in digital copiers, laser printers, cellular phone base stations, add/drop muxes, digital cross-connects, DSLAMs, network switches/routers, backplane interconnect and clock distribution.
