The MAX5053BEUA+ is a current mode PWM controller with an error amplifier for isolated/non-isolated power supplies in 8 pin µMAX package. It contains all control circuitry required for design of wide input voltage isolated/non-isolated power supplies. It contains an internal error amplifier that regulates tertiary winding output voltage. This implements primary side regulated isolated power supply eliminating need for an optocoupler. An input UVLO is provided for programming input supply start voltage and to ensure proper operation during brownout conditions. The 262KHz switching frequency is internally trimmed to ±12% accuracy which allows optimization of magnetic and filter components resulting in compact, cost effective power supplies. It is used in universal input AC and isolated telecom power supplies, networking systems, computer systems/servers, industrial power conversion, isolated keep alive circuits, 12V boost regulators, 12V SEPIC regulators.

- 50W output power, operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
- Does not have internal bootstrap UVLO and can be biased directly from a minimum voltage of 10.8V
- Programmable input start-up voltage, suited for low input voltage (10.8VDC to 24VDC) power supplies
- Voltage gain error amplifier of 80dB and unity gain bandwidth of 2MHz
- 45μA start-up supply current and 1.4mA operating supply current
- Maximum duty cycle limit of 75%
- 60ns cycle by cycle current limit response time
- Propagation delay from comparator input to NDRV of 60ns (50mV overdrive)
- Digital soft-start and thermal shutdown
