ADN4620BRIZ is a dual-channel, signal isolated, low voltage differential signalling buffer gigabit isolator that operate at up to 2.5Gbps with very low jitter. The device integrates Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology, enhanced for high speed operation to provide drop-in galvanic isolation of LVDS signal chains. AC coupling and/or level shifting to the LVDS receivers and from the LVDS drivers allows isolation of other high speed signals, such as current mode logic (CML). It includes a refresh mechanism to monitor the input and output states and ensure that they remain the same in the absence of data transitions. Applications include analogue front-end isolation, data plane isolation, isolated high speed clock and data links, multigigabit serialization/deserialization (SERDES), PCB-to-PCB optical replacement (for example, short reach fibre).
- Rated dielectric insulation voltage is 3.75kV rms (1 minute duration)
- Complies with TIA/EIA-644-A LVDS signal levels, dual-channel configuration
- Maximum data rate is 2.5Gbps min (VDD1 = VDD2 = 1.8V and TA = 25°C)
- Total jitter, peak-to-peak, at bit error rate 1 × 10-¹² is 40ps typ (1.25GHz/2.5Gbps)
- Propagation delay is 2.15ns typ (VDD1 = VDD2 = 1.8V and TA = 25°C)
- Random jitter, RMS is 0.82ps rms typ (1.25GHz clock input, TA = 25°C)
- Lower power 1.8V supplies with 3.3V supplies for I/O
- Up to ±8kV IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection across isolation barrier
- Common-mode transient immunity is 70kV/µs typ (VCM = 1000V)
- 16 lead SOIC package, temperature range from -40°C to +125°C
