Product Overview
The MAX5435MEZT+T is a 32-tap, I2C, non-volatile linear taper digital potentiometer in 6 pin TSOT-23 package. It performs the function of a mechanical potentiometer but replaces the mechanics with a simple 2-wire serial interface. The MAX5435 features an internal, non-volatile, electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) that returns the wiper to its previously stored position at power-up. The fast mode I²C compatible serial interface allows communication at data rate up to 400Kbps, minimizing board space and reducing interconnection complexity. The nominal resistor temperature coefficient is 35ppm/°C end to end and only 5ppm/°C ratiometric, making the device is ideal for applications requiring a low-temperature coefficient variable resistor such as low drift, programmable gain amplifier circuit configurations. This device is used in volume control and LCD screen adjustment applications.
