Power to Innovate: Smarter, Smaller, Stronger

Whether it is a smartwatch, smart thermostat, a connected health monitor, or any other IoT device, one thing keeps them running: Power. And as system requirements change, so must the techniques engineers use to tackle it. Effective power management is not only about delivering power, but also about delivering it cleanly, efficiently, and with intelligence. Especially in the last decade, with advancements in power electronics, being able to guarantee strong start-up behavior, minimising losses and maximising run time, the possibilities are new for embedded designers.

Growing complexity in systems today, especially in industrial, automotive, and IoT applications, has designers zeroing in more than ever on energy generation and power management, storage, and protection. The technology has evolved from wide-bandgap semiconductors to ultra-efficient passive components.
