Solid State Illumination

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are the most common form of solid state illumination and a number of technological developments in recent years have seen LEDs replacing incandescent lighting (which has a typical energy efficiency of just 5%) in many applications due to their increased reliability and energy efficiency. The Farnell range of solid state illumination products represents some of the latest developments in this line of electronics.
